The Liberty Molly Poecilia gillii (formerly salvatoris).
experience with a "classic" by Michael Müsch, Melle

I received this lovely Molly kind in autumn 2003 by the webmaster of the ornamental fish directory ANIKA Boerries .
She had a short time before this type discovered in the pool scene of a restaurant. According to the output of the host animals were around 1980 in a river in northern Italy, and he holds them captive since along with a few cichlids in a large display tanks. There are always plenty of young fish to preserve the species.

After initial problems in the identification of species (they went out only by a Gambusenart) confirmed my first impression is that there is a Mollyart. The four main animals I got paid, on a slender body, the males were about 4 inches tall and magnificently colored, red-black-white back and tail fin and blue shiny body, the females were about 7-8 Somewhat surprised me the color of the rising young fish before the gonopodium trained in the males, because in some dyed his anal fin red-orange, which I on the feeding of Cyclop-eeze attributed. However, this staining disappeared again after some time, and since I Cyplop-eeze at this time not fed for some time, I had walked out of a context.

A magnificent Liberty-the alpha male mollies Poecilia gillii .
In the meantime, I observed that there is no link / was, because the young males are colored the anal fin red-orange before it transforms itself to the gonopodium, then lose again the coloring. I have observed in some males, that before the blue body coloration is formed, golden-colored vertical stripes were, however, which again disappeared, or were covered by the blue. After about five months seems the coloration of males to be completed, both sexes have after six months, a height of about 6 cm, the dorsal fin of the males trained not yet completely and the growth in size of the females is not yet complete, I guess that this will take 10-12 months. At the moment I think a group of about 20 animals along with some other live-bearing in a 450 gallon tank, which is moderately planted. Meanwhile, three very impressive (alpha) males in the swarm, the other males are not as intensely colored. They do not show any aggression and not harass their females particularly strong. Pluck especially the females strongly brush algae, because just two weeks after implementation in the 450-gallon tank (which I always had problems with algae on Moorkien brush and savanna wood) to thin them, but no plants are attacked.

inches tall, but not nearly as intensely colored as the males, the dorsal fin is likewise not been dressed so like a flag. The basic color is gray, although variations occur from light to dark gray. In December 2003, hired the first young animals, they pointed to a gray color with an inch tall. They were planted with Vallisneria in a 112 liter tank was born, where I could find no cannibalism of the parents. This first litter of 19 puppies, I took over after a few days without apparent loss in a 25-liter rearing tanks. It should be noted in this regard that we view the female at first glance, could not they just before throwing were, because they are not thick, but only a slightly triangular belly got. The young Molly's been several times a day varied with Dekapsulierten artemia, spirulina, Cyclop -eeze, frozen Artemia nauplii and from the 3rd-4th Weeks and fed with frozen red mosquito larvae and black, in addition, there is once a week live Daphnia and Cyclops, which are also eagerly eaten. What is striking in young animals, they get bigger and stronger than their parents, especially backs, I run back to the varied and frequent feeding, as well as the frequent water changes on my part.

All in all I can say that this is an interesting and very pretty way, but they better come only in large pools with plenty of swimming space to advantage. I think in normal tap water, there are no water treatment agent is added. My water parameters GH are 21 ° dH, KH 14 ° dH, pH around 7 and the temperature is between 22 to 25 ° C unstable. In the meantime, I am moved and the water levels have changed, GH 12 ° dH, KH 7-8 ° dH , pH 7.5 - 8 The Molly also feel very comfortable with these values ??and proliferate. the end of June 2005 I have 65 kittens of various sizes in over one thousand liters of moderately comprehensive set veralgten garden pond. Here they form flocks of 5 - 65 animals seem to roam the basin near the surface or stay under the leaves of a medium-size water lily. Also here is very good to watch as they pick at algae clumps, which are located on the edge of the basin. Whether they eat here are the algae or micro-organisms therein I may not judge.

Kyriad Poyet micro sp. Orange Line (4)

2008-10-08  |  killifish

Up with a new one and a half months, the tank water plants and has been left unattended 36cm lead.
I also have filtered water Mote finally confident now that barely cause a major role last week. Kyriad Poyet micro sp. Orange Line Micropoecilia sp. Orange line (wild-F2) E-520 + ZUIKO DIGITAL 35mm F3.5 Macro for the first time in six months re-appeared. But it is spot-to-caudal fin lines are broken, individuals born from the F1 parent wild nor does it have potential in particular. The main feature of the Orange Line also said there are considerable individual differences, those cut off from the abdominal area, the character becomes unbroken, and only half of those without body lines, vary widely. Young age of around 2cm line of fish to changes in Oita Incidentally grows, so must rely on. Since this is already solid and very adult size 2.5cm, I think that line is this remains stable. And there are individual differences in tail spots 0-2. Karashitara people who are working really long time to live bearer sure, individuals are born by chance and, to my mind and while it may level?I?Kase Yappari waves, it's pretty solid favorite.

Character lines extending from the temple.
How can I keep fine eon.

Black border appears along the Orange Line and get excited.
Furthermore, individual differences in the amount of this black edge.

The caudal fin has black spots appearing on only one side of the body, can vary by individual location.
(The body is not the head of the center?) immediately, I was born larvae of this pair also.

Added CO2, privately and is only 36cm 1pr aquarium weed treatment VIP. Is about 10 months to the end and no comments were raised about Shittaka. If the food is healthy Akamushi, brine, flakes floating on the water, actively makes eating anything until something such as food granules sank. So used to people coming together and hitting the tank to be??Me environmental movement is also very active. We are chasing a ? ? especially during the day is not enough to not die from overwork and worry. The deterioration of water quality is so sensitive but comparatively, well below the range of detection of nitrite or nitrate reagent is easy to neglect or relates to renewal and Karamunarisu (? is particularly susceptible). On the other hand has a wide coverage of the PH difference in body color and bred ill Temashita did not feel at about 5.5 to 6.5. ?Razu a reasonable periodic renewal, but I can not do anything environmental problems such as those found in the photosynthetic water plants, and imperceptibly disappear in a tank that is properly managed??, I think the fish class of weak I think were better off.

Expression of different types of swords in Japan Blue body color.

By Christiane Müsch 6/2006
In breeding dual swords with the body color Japan Blue, I noticed that there are different types of swords that are inherited independently and show a respectively different appearance. For the Y-linked gouache Japan Blue is the sword of expression and the fins of color on the X chromosome. The females also significantly influence the shape of fins.

1st JB Wiener x Emerald
On my first crossing of a Japanese male with blue double sword Vienna Emerald females I received in the F2 males with partial fins relatively good standard, narrow, white-orange double swords as in Vienna and emerald transparent dorsal fin. This leads to the conclusion that females do not usually inherit Vienna Emerald Dorsal color. For most males, the sword was down slightly over-emphasized, just like the WAS strain.
2nd JB x Neon Type 1
at the junction of a Japan Blue Double Sword male with a neon double sword-Dame (type 1 - colored RF). were males with red dual swords and a red dorsal fin
, the shape of the dorsal fin, was like a flag and blunt pointed, the sword form was poor (beam swords ), but the education of both swords in relatively the same width and length.
In the F2 (Geschwisterverpaarung) there were some males with just standard swords and pointed dorsal fin.

3rd JB Type 2 x Neon
At the crossroads of a Japan Blue Double Neon Sword male with a double-sword-Dame (Type 2 - clear RF) were males with bluish or yellowish white swords and the almost-standard dorsal fin. With them often the upper sword was better developed and orange colored, while the bottom remained bright and brief. Also interesting was the appearance of some pure top-males with sword sword and most recently of "wild" shortfinned.
The (neon) sisters of the males of 2 and 3 Females have sword-colored fins and some very long drawn out and pointed dorsal fin.
3rd JB x Platinum (?)
There are also always Japananblue double swords with the fins of the Platinum-DS exhibited tribe. Such a thing has occurred to me yet. When I walked out of the Platinum connection with Wiener-produced males females, a high percentage of metallic emerald-DS-male. This indicates that Platinum and the related Y-linked Swords is inherited, just like the Japan Blue. As this type can occur is unclear to me.
